Coaching guidelines

  1. I acknowledge and adhere to the ethical and legal obligations of the ICF (International Coaching Federation), and I respect them in relation to my clients, stakeholders, colleagues, and the general public. I operate according to these principles in my interactions with those I coach, train, mentor, and guide.
  2. A written agreement defining the primary goal and general terms of coaching is always drafted and signed.
  3. Coaching and mentoring are confidential activities, and as a coach, I commit to keeping all information confidential, as well as the identities of those I have coached.
  4. I listen, encourage, and empower.
  5. Coaching is designed and implemented individually based on the needs, desires, circumstances, and duration of coaching of the coachee and the client.
  6. In coaching sessions:
  • I am present only for my coachee
  • I take care of my own energy level and focus
  • I encourage open expression of emotions and ensure that the coaching environment is safe
  •

Basic coaching principles in individual, group, and corporate coaching sessions

I utilize various coaching techniques and exercises primarily based on a solution-focused approach, with a focus on dialogue.

The fundamental principle is to concentrate on the client’s thinking, emotions, and actions.

The aim is to strengthen the client’s coping mechanisms, especially in challenging life situations.

Coaching aims to develop the client’s conscious thinking and self-management skills so that they learn and discover new effective ways for stressful, challenging, or otherwise energy- or resource-consuming situations.

Stella Engård:

“Marjaana is a calm and pleasant coach. She exudes a strong desire to help the coachee succeed. She does this by listening and asking insightful questions. She is genuinely present in the moment, creating a trusting atmosphere around her.

She prepares very well for each session and provides tools for further reflection. Issues are approached from many different perspectives, which helps one to see more than they would alone. Strong recommendation for Marjaana!”

Anna Mari Koutroukides

“Marjaana believed in me, and I gained so much strength from that belief that I dared to move back to my hometown, leave my job, and start my own business.

Coaching helped me organize, articulate, and even visualize thoughts that had surfaced during self-reflection. I needed someone to walk alongside me and listen, and luckily I found Marjaana.”

Helena Hurri

“I had the privilege of being coached by Marjaana after a significant life change. I was tangled in my own thoughts and emotions, and with her gentleness and calmness, Marjaana supported me through the upheaval of that change. For instance, we did various exercises that guided me from the fog into clarity. Marjaana’s support was invaluable.

Marjaana is a skilled coach, and I warmly recommend her to anyone going through a period of change. Her peace and professionalism are a wonderful gift!”

Kati Piipari

“An attentive, client-centered, encouraging, and easily approachable Coach. Through the conversations/guidance with Marjaana, my path found direction.”

Katja M.

“Marjaana is an encouraging and skilled coach who, by appropriately challenging, brings out the best in people and helps the coachee to find solutions that are just right for them.”

Tuija Leppäluoto

“Marjaana is a highly professional coach, and discussing both career and personal life matters with her always felt natural. We did many exercises together that helped clarify my values and career aspirations.

I found the coaching extremely beneficial, even though I am still at the very beginning of my career. Although it has been a year since the coaching session, I still revisit the exercises and notes from that time to remind myself of my goals and the direction I want to take in life.”
